A fast-track training and implementation program allowed bulk carrier Darrell Green Trucking Inc. to install and begin using the TruckMate for Windows fleet management system in just two weeks, according to developer Maddocks Systems Inc. Relying on both video and online training for dispatch and other fleet personnel, the fast track program allowed the carrier to make a smooth transition from its manual dispatch system to the new integrated software solution.
PeopleNet Communications reports that it has signed up 37 new fleet customers for its mobile communications. Among the fleets signing contracts were Martin Transportation Systems, Wooster Motor Ways and Carolina Tank Lines.
Third-party logistics provider Traffic Management Services is moving to web-based hosted logistics software, Transcore's CarrierPoint. It will use the system for web-based quoting, contract management, dispatching and dock scheduling, and other communications with shippers /carriers.
