JB Hunt Transport will install Qualcomm's OmniExpress wireless communications systems in its intermodal fleet. OmniExpress is a land-based system providing real-time vehicle location and two-way communications over the CDMA digital wireless network. The giant truckload carrier has used Qualcomm's satellite-based OmniTRACS communications system in its longhaul fleet for over 10 years.
Fleets looking for quotes on new dry van and flatbed trailers can use a new online service. Willgo (www.willgo.com) allows users to spec trailers for their applications and submit quote requests to selected manufacturers. Quoted prices include FET, delivery, and a $250 per trailer fee for Willgo. The site also includes financing information, and a reefer trailer section is planned.

Telematics services in Mexico, including access to directions and emergency services, will be offered under a new joint venture by Trimble Information Services and Gedas Mexico. Trimble will supply the onboard communications hardware and Gedas will operate the service's call center.
