Hunter Engineering has introduced its new Series 811T Heavy-Duty Alignment System. It uses a computer programmed with the firm's WinAlign HD Alignment software and Microsoft's Windows 98 SE operating system to specifically handle the wheel alignment needs of heavy-duty trucks, trailers and buses. The 811T also features an Internet-connection option for easy transmittal of alignment results.

The WinAlign HD software provides simple, step-by-step procedures and instructions to allow technicians to perform alignments more quickly — translating into more alignments per day and thus higher truck technician productivity, said Hunter. The software supports over 50 heavy-duty axle configurations.

By collecting and comparing the alignment measurements of the tested vehicle with the database specifications of that specific vehicle type, WinAlign HD automatically calculates and displays all alignment measurements in a color-coded format to show the technician which angles are out of specification.

A new optional feature for Hunter's alignment system is ShopResults.net, an Internet-based system that provides a quick and easy way to share alignment results with truck owners. The system can also archive alignment records, Hunter said. To access ShopResults.net requires the addition of Hunter's modem module, as well as Internet access, the company noted.
