Ryder System is providing one free year of preventive maintenance to customers who buy its “Road Ready” used tractors. The free PM service is only available through Ryder maintenance facilities.

The offer consists of a 112-point maintenance and safety inspection, including drive-on, air-brake and under-vehicle checks, in-depth tire and wheel inspections and an engine compartment check; and an oil and filter change and complete lubrication.

Customers who purchase “Road Ready” tractors during this limited-time offer are entitled to four PM visits, which can be scheduled every 24,000 miles within one year of purchase date.

Ryder says Road Ready vehicles are single-owner trucks that have been specially road-tested, maintained and monitored in Ryder's own 175,000-vehicle fleet. They are equipped with long-life silicone coolant hoses, slack adjusters, filter gauges, synthetic lubes, jump-start posts, heavy-duty clutches and batteries and task-specific transmission, suspension and engine packages.

The Road Ready designation indicates that the vehicle meets or exceeds 59 standards related to tire and brake life, OEM engine tolerances, and structural, cab and interior integrity, and, where applicable, documentation of annual federal inspection.
