Drivers equipped with Java-enabled cellphones and cellular data service can now be directly integrated with EIS Inc.'s dispatch and routing system, the Enterprise Transportation Management Application.

The new wireless option allows dispatchers to send drivers full route and stop details right from dispatch screens. Drivers can confirm pickups, send POD information and relay other data in real-time with no other hardware than a Nextel network cellphone.

Since the new wireless application is Java based, it can also be easily integrated with other back office applications, according to EIS.
