Rand McNally-TDM Inc. has announced a number of function upgrades for its MileMaker and IntelliRoute commercial route management software, and introduced RouteTools, a lower cost truck routing package for smaller fleets and owner-operators.

Changes for MileMaker and IntelliRoute include updated zip code tables and designated highway information, as well as Internet updates for all routing data. Both programs have also been upgraded to allow export of household goods (HHG) mileage and fuel calculations to Excel spreadsheets.

The upgrades are available to all existing Rand McNally-TDM customers. MileMaker and IntelliRoute run under a variety of operating systems, including mainframes, AS-400s, UNIX and Windows.

RouteTools, the new small fleet system is Windows-based, providing a simple graphical interface for calculating routes by actual distance or standard HHG miles. Routes can be run for trailer-length or GVW compliance, and downloadable updates on road construction are available every two weeks.

The PC-based software also allows small fleet users to create fuel networks by filter truck stops based on amenities offered.
