GE Tip is now offering a cradle-to-grave trailer and asset management service. The “integrated trailer fleet management service” starts with a menu of acquisition and financing options that range from daily rental and outright purchase, according to Scott Nelson, vp-sales.
Tracking services are being handled by GE VeriWise, an untethered tracking system introduced last April. The system uses a LEO (low-earth orbit) satellite network for complete two-way communications throughout North America.
The company's mobile maintenance service is designed for trailers on dedicated runs that rarely get back to fleet facilities. It currently has 350 fully equipped trucks providing routine maintenance and repairs, and plans to add another 120 over the next year.
At the end of the trailer life cycle, GE Tip provides remarketing at no charge to customers. Services include national marketing and transportation, as well as financing options for potential buyers.
