Hendrickson, Stemco venture introduces Value Package
Hendrickson International has forged a partnership with Stemco Inc. to introduce a new trailer wheel-end product called the Value Package. The new package is a ready-to-roll option for Intraax and Vantraax suspension systems.
A low-cost, extended service wheel-end configuration, the Value Package is built around Stemco's Advantage System, which is designed to provide more protection for wheel-end components, according to Hendrickson. This combination package addresses three areas: sealing ability, bearing adjustment and lubricant integrity.
Stemco's Advantage System includes a premium hub-installed, unitized-design seal with a new high-temperature sealing element; Pro-Torq Advanced Axle Spindle Nuts to provide consistent bearing settings that extend wheel-end life; and the Sentinel hub cap, which has a filtering system that eliminates contamination.
Hendrickson has encased Stemco's system in a ductile iron hub assembly, complete with cast-iron drums, slack adjusters, brake chambers, and the company's 16.5x 7-in. HXS (extended service) brakes.
Both Hendrickson and Stemco said their jointly produced wheel end offers customers the convenience of one-stop shopping and competitive pricing, along with a single source for managing any warranty issues. Stemco's Advantage System, for example, has a five-year limited warranty.
The MagneGrip diesel exhaust-venting system developed by Clean Air Concepts alleviates exposure to toxic fumes in truck-maintenance facilities. System's aluminum "stack adapter" fits all exhaust stacks, whether straight or angled at 45 degrees or 90 degrees. A flexible ventilating hose clamps over the end of the adapter.
