Heavy-duty friction material manufacturer Brake Pro, Ltd. announced the development of a new family of friction materials, the CCM line (conformable, cohesive, metallic).
CCM linings are said to generate higher brake torque, providing shorter stopping distances, longer lining life, longer drum life, and quieter braking performance.
Application-specific CCM linings are available in five axle ratings, ranging from 20,000 to 29,000 lb.
The CCM line is based on Brake Pro's CM24(3) formula, which uses three concepts in one material. According to Brake Pro, it combines (a) unique conformability characteristics, i.e., lining beds easily to drum; (b) transfer film, a cohesive technology that creates a controlled and conditioned brake surface interface, and (c) a metallic matrix that allows for more heat transfer during braking.
