Diesel engine manufacturer Cummins has merged two of its Northeast distributors to create a new joint venture that can provide more service options to customers.
Cummins Power Systems LLC will combine the territories of the current Cummins Power Systems and Cummins Metropower distributors – both independently owned distributors whose principals are retiring in the coming months – to be headed by Scott Patrohay, currently president & CEO of Cummins MerCruiser Diesel (CMD), as distributor principal effective January, 2008.
Under the joint venture, Patrohay and Cummins will have equity interest in the merged distributor, and Patrohay will lead the day-to-day management of the company. The joint venture will serve customers in Connecticut, New York City, New Jersey, Maryland and eastern Pennsylvania, the company said.
Succeeding Patrohay at CMD effective Nov. 1 this year is Alex Savelli, managing director of energy solutions and rental business at Cummins Power Generation
