Daimler Financial Services Americas has announced the re-engineering of the company into a new smaller structure. The company will expand its Westlake, TX customer service, collections and remarketing operations of Mercedes-Benz Financial business unit to include similar disciplines for Daimler Truck Financial’s business unit by the summer of 2008.

Daimler Financial Services Americas is now headquartered in Farmington Hills, MI, and will support sales of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and Freightliner, Sterling, and Western Star heavy-duty trucks.

"The de-merger has given us the opportunity to take a clean sheet of paper approach to our operations and re-engineer the way we serve our dealers and retail customers in the U.S. market," said Klaus Entenmann, president & CEO of Daimler Financial Services Americas.

The company also announced that the approximately 440 employees in Texas will be joined by 180 positions from the Daimler Truck Financial operation in Lisle, IL, as well as 35 others from around the United States will be moving into a new three-story, 160,000 sq.-ft facility near Ft. Worth, TX.
