Diesel prices fall 18 cents

The average diesel price in the U.S. fell 18 cents to $3.48 per gallon for the week of October 20, a mere 32 cents higher than it was one year ago, according to the Energy Information Administration

The average diesel price in the U.S. fell 18 cents to $3.48 per gallon for the week of October 20, a mere 32 cents higher than it was one year ago, according to the Energy Information Administration.

After hitting an all-time high of $4.76 on July 14th, diesel prices have steadily dropped ever since, as the price of a barrel of crude oil has gone from $147.27 on July 11 to $74.13 as of mid-day today.

The most expensive area for diesel fuel continues to be New England, where it averaged $3.73 per gallon. The least expensive area is now the West Coast, which averaged $3.43 per gallon.
