The average diesel price fell three cents to $4.15 a gallon for the week of May 5, offering a slight respite from price increases

The average diesel price fell three cents to $4.15 a gallon for the week of May 5, offering a slight respite from price increases in ten of the past twelve weeks, according to data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

The $4.15 price is $1.36 more expensive than a year ago this week, and marks the fourth consecutive week the price is over four dollars.

The Rocky Mountain was the only region to see prices increase this week, going from $4.14 to $4.16. The least expensive fuel continues to be in the Gulf Coast region, where it averages $4.08 per gallon, and the most expensive is in the Central Atlantic region, averaging $4.35 per gallon.
