Finance company Hennessey Capital Southeast has forged three new businesses from the ashes of a former client, bankrupt trucking firm Nuco Express: HenneCold Storage, BenCo Transportation and HenneCo Logistics.
Hennessey said it formed those businesses after purchasing the storage and transportation assets of Tampa-based Nuco storage after it entered Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings. HenneCold Storage is comprised of a 440,000 cubic foot freezer facility, while the newly formed HenneCo Logistics serves as a freight brokerage company.
BenCo Transportation’s trucking fleet will switch over to leased tractors equipped with auxiliary power units and GPS tracking systems and trailers, turning more and more of that equipment over to owner-operators, said Tim Lomelino, BenCo’s new president who served as a terminal manager for Nuco.
