You have to see the picture to get the full effect of the tractor-trailer rig that wound up atop a freeway sign in Houston in a freak accident Tuesday.
Somehow a hydraulic system powering the truck bed accidently became engaged while the truck was moving on I-45 in Houston, according to Jalopnik. The bed of the rig was raised up at a 90-deg. angle and the driver unaware of the situation as he passed under freeway signs overhead. The truck bed struck an Airport Exit sign, disengaged from the cab and was left suspended in the air stuck to the sign.
Part of the Houston North freeway had to be closed to remove the rig from the sign. No one was injured in the accident. The trucking company will be required to pay for repair of the sign, which the state estimates will cost approximately $100,000.
