Global aluminum producer Alcoa has promoted Daniel Cruise to be a vp and officer of the company, in large measure for his work developing business ties in China while serving as a “point person” of sorts on other strategic and public policy issues for Alcoa.
Prior to joining Alcoa in 2009, Cruise served as managing director of the Albright Stonebridge Group, a global business advisory group, and with Clark & Weinstock, a Washington, D.C.-based consultancy. He also worked at the White House during the Clinton Administration as Assistant Press Secretary for Foreign Affairs and Director of Public Affairs for the National Security Council.
