The national average price for a gallon of diesel fell 2.6 cents to $2.851 for the week ending April 22, according to the Energy Information Administration.
Prices fell for all regions, but dropped the most in the Lower Atlantic, where it was down 3.5 cents to $2.817. Prices held the steadiest in the West Coast, falling only 0.3 cents to $2.953. The most expensive region for filling up remains California, at $3.004 after falling only 1.1 cents. Bargain hunters should go to the Gulf Coast, where the average price was $2.815 after falling 3.4 cents.
