Eaton Corp. has changed up the executive team responsible for its Vehicle Group. John Coll has been named vp--global marketing. To be based out of Eaton’s Kalamazoo, MI, headquarters, Coll is tasked with marketing Eaton’s automotive and commercial vehicle power management offerings within key markets around the world.

“We’re transforming our group from a product-focused organization to a market-focused one," said Kenneth Davis, president of the Vehicle Group.

Most recently, Coll was director of sales for Eaton’s truck business in North America. He has held a variety of sales and aftermarket positions since joining Eaton in 2001. Prior to that, he was director of global channel marketing for the Cutler-Hammer Group.

Coll named the following executives to his global marketing leadership team:

• Don Alles, director of branding & communications. Alles will lead global internal and external communications for Eaton’s Vehicle Group. Since joining Eaton in 1984, he has held several business communication management positions in the truck business and in the Vehicle Group.

• Bill Carter, director of sales & marketing functional excellence. Carter and his team will develop and deploy best practices, processes and tools for the Vehicle Group’s global sales and marketing organizations. Since joining Eaton in 1976, he has served in management roles in engineering, product planning, pricing and sales operations.

• Tom Nellenbach, director of marketing intelligence. Nellenbach and his team will be responsible for delivering intelligence on key market segment opportunities around the world. Since joining Eaton in 2006, he has served as the marketing manager for alternative markets in the Automotive Group and market planning and automotive marketing manager for Vehicle Group.

“As we transform our Vehicle Group business from a product line focus to a market focus, these highly capable marketing professionals and their teams will provide a complete offering of strategic marketing services for our businesses and markets”, said Coll. “Don, Bill and Tom are the best at what they do in our industry, and we look forward to the significant impacts they will bring to our global growth goals.”
