Several sections of I-85 in the Logansville-Grayson area will be closed nights through Aug. 12, according to the Georgia Dept. of Transportation, as work continues on the new high occupancy toll road planned for portions of I-85. There are no daytime lane closures planned.
During the overnight hours, southbound closures will begin at 8 p.m. and continue to 5 a.m. Northbound lane closures will begin at 10 p.m. and continue to 5 a.m. the next day. Overnight lane closures may occur at the following locations:
Tuesday Aug. 9 – A 3-mi. work zone is planned along I-85 south only, from Chamblee Tucker Rd. to SR 141/Jimmy Carter Blvd. A second work zone is planned on I-85 south only from Boggs Rd. to SR 120/Duluth Highway.
Wednesday Aug. 10 – A 3-mi. work zone is planned along I-85 south only, from Chamblee Tucker Rd. to SR 141/Jimmy Carter Blvd. A second work zone is planned along I-85 south only, from Steve Reynolds Blvd. to south of Boggs Rd.
Thursday Aug. 11 – A 3-mi. work zone is planned for I-85 north from Chamblee Tucker Rd. to SR 140/Jimmy Carter Blvd. A second 2-mi. work zone is planned on I-85 south from Old Norcross Rd. to SR 120/Duluth Highway.
The I-85 Express Lanes Project includes installation of 16 mi. of fiber and signage along Interstate Highway 85 between Chamblee Tucker Rd. and Old Peachtree Road and along State Route 316 between I-85 and Riverside Parkway.
