Illinois road closures begin today

The Illinois Dept. of Transportation has announced several upcoming road closures, KSDK News, East St. Louis, IL, reports.

• Beginning today, the ramp from northbound IL Route 3 to westbound Interstates 55/70/64 will be closed from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for a safety inspection.

• Old US Highway 50 will be closed at Frogtown Road/Little Prairie Road, east of Breese, IL beginning today. The road will be closed until Sept. 30 to replace culverts.

• On Sept. 12 and 13, the Martin Luther King Bridge will be closed to all eastbound traffic from 7 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the biennial safety inspection.

• On Sept. 14 and 15, only the right lane eastbound on the Martin Luther King Bridge will be closed.

• Westbound lanes on the Martin Luther King Bridge will remain open to traffic at all times.
