Kenworth Truck Co. has announced that its new aerodynamic Kenworth T700 tractor is now in full production at its manufacturing plant in Chillicothe, OH. “We’re seeing positive demand for the T700 and expect it to increase as customers purchase fuel-efficient, aerodynamic trucks as their business and the economy strengthens,” said Marilyn Santangelo, assistant gm for operations. Last month Kenworth received an order for 500 T700s from Stevens Transport in Dallas.

According to the OEM, the new T700 has the lowest aerodynamic drag of any Kenworth truck in company history and has earned Environmental Protection Agency SmartWay program certification. The T700, which is aimed at over-the-road and team driver operations, offers a 75-in Aerodyne sleeper with an 8-ft cathedral ceiling, best in class forward lighting, and excellent serviceability, said KW.

In addition, the OEM said the new truck “provides low operating cost and high productivity, outstanding driver comfort, advanced technology, and excellent resale value.”

The T700 may be ordered with either the 12.9-liter Paccar MX engine or 15-liter Cummins ISX15 engine.
