Component maker Meritor Inc. has elevated two executives to new positions. John Nelligan has been promoted to gm of OEM sales & national accounts. He succeeds Dennis Kline, who recently retired from the company after 36 years of service.

A two-decade veteran of the trucking industry himself, Nelligan joined Meritor in 2009 after a four-year stint as dealer principal and gm at Harper Truck Centres in Mississauga, ON. He’s also held executive positions at Daimler Trucks North America and Western Star Trucks.

Nelligan will in turn be succeeded by Matthew Stevenson as gm of North American field operations & marketing. Stevenson will be responsible for the company’s field sales team, service, training, fleet and dealer relationships and Meritor WABCO field sales. He will also retain responsibility for product marketing in North America supporting the company's Truck, Trailer, and Specialty business units.

Prior to joining Meritor in 2010, Stevenson spent nearly ten years at Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA).

Both Nelligan and Stevenson will report directly to Joe Plomin, vp of Meritor’s Truck Americas unit, the company said.
