The crash closed the southbound lanes of I-15 for several hours Sunday night.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson told KTUL News that many of the insects dispersed, but the truck's driver and passenger, along with at least two law enforcement officers were stung. The truck driver and a passenger were reportedly taken to the hospital to deal with injuries as a result of the bee stings.

Authorities were consulting with the Utah Dept. of Agriculture to determine how to capture or eliminate the swarming insects. Beekeepers were reportedly brought in to help.
