To encourage fleets to get online and kick the tires, so to speak, Mitchell 1 is offering a free 14-day trial subscription to its new Repair-Connect web-based diagnostic and service program. Introduced in February at the Technology and Maintenance Council’s annual meeting, Repair-Connect allows technicians to enter a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) for any brand of truck, then takes them directly to the proper information required to fix the problem.

The 14-day trial subscription to qualified companies is an effort to get fleets to see how this system can simplify and speed up the repair process for their shops, said Kristy LaPage, Mitchell 1’s account supervisor. “We'd like to see them really try this out in their own shop environment,” she noted.

LePage said Repair-Connect automatically pulls and clears DTC’s through a Vehicle Communication Device or with the vehicle information entered manually, then delivers a “to-the-point” wiring diagram displaying just the wires making up a particular circuit.

Repair-Connect will also provide the entire engine diagram when needed. LePage added that thousands of digital photos provide detailed real-world views of components involved with the repair.
