Peterbilt dealer opens new shop

The Pete Store, a privately owned chain of Peterbilt dealerships with locations from Maryland to Georgia, is opening a new full-service location in Columbia, SC, near the intersection of I-20 and I-26

The Pete Store, a privately owned chain of Peterbilt dealerships with locations from Maryland to Georgia, is opening a new full-service location in Columbia, SC, near the intersection of I-20 and I-26.

This makes the second facility the company operates in South Carolina. Each Pete Store offers service, parts, sales, leasing, financing, and insurance services to the Midlands region in that state.

Garold Goodin, who has worked at The Pete Store Knoxville, TN location for 16 years, will serve as parts manager and Kevin Franklin is joining the company as service manager, bringing with him 13 years experience from a local Caterpillar distributor.

The company plans to open a dealership in Springfield, VA, in early 2011, and is evaluatione several markets for expansion as well, said John Arscott, president and founder of The Pete Store

“As the transportation industry and the economy begin to show positive signs of recovery, 2011 is about getting back to business; back to growth, and frankly back to having fun after three very difficult years for our industry,” Arscott said. “We are excited about what lies ahead.”
