SPX Service Solutions has introduced a new multi-language diagnostic scan tool for vehicle technicians, delivering data in English, Spanish, and French. The new OTC 3109 OBD II and CAN scan tool from SPX comes pre-loaded with comprehensive vehicle and code coverage.

Compatible with all 1996 and newer vehicles, the OTC 3109 also offers all nine modes of OBD II engine data, which includes VIN number information, CVN and Cal ID, O2 Monitor Test, Diagnostic Monitor Test, and On Board Systems.

"The manufacturer-specific code definitions included in the tool are specific to the vehicle's make, model, year and engine size for more accurate code definitions than competitive products," said Jennifer Grabowski, product manager of diagnostics.

“As an added benefit, the code definitions are based on the popular Pegisys and Genisys professional information databases,” she added. “The tool also features LIVE Data that allows the user to view vehicle sensor, switch and relay inputs in real time, while the engine is running. This information helps pinpoint problem components for a faster diagnosis."

Grabowski noted that OTC 3109 can be kept current via a USB port (with a USB update cable is included in the package) and is also European On Board Diagnostics (EOBD) compatible – the equivalent of the American OBD II standard – that applied to petrol cars sold in Europe from 2001 and diesel cars 2004 and newer.
