TDS Logistics and European third-party logistics operator Walsh Western International are planning to merge, with a new name for the combined entity to be disclosed in the coming weeks.
Jos Opdeweegh, president & CEO of Atlanta-based TDS, said the combined firm plans to focus on providing global supply chain solutions for the automotive industry, as well as the technology sector.
“The merger will leverage the strengths of both organizations and provides a compelling platform from which to deliver world-class logistics solutions,” he said. “Moving forward we’ll have a total of 54 facilities operating across North and South America, Europe and Asia; employing more than 9,000 people globally.”
Opdeweegh will also assume leadership responsibility for the overall management of the merged global company.
