A day of educational seminars and demonstrations will be held at the new Xtra Lease facility in Kansas City, MO, on Wednesday, May 25, 2011.

The day is designed to provide trucking companies and shippers with knowledge on how to deal with rising fuel costs, new regulations, and to better manage fleet utilization, Xtra Lease said. The event will take place at the company’s location at 8851 NE Birmingham Road.

“While we’ve been in operation at the new location for a few months, we waited until the spring and better weather to accommodate as many people as possible,” said Bill Thompson, Xtra Lease branch manager. “We welcome all carriers and shippers to attend.”

Bruce Stockton, president of Stockton Solutions and a former vice president at Con-way Truckload, will be among the featured speakers. Stockton will address how carriers can reduce fuel costs.

Tom Kretsinger, Jr., president & COO of American Central Transport, will discuss the impact of CSA and what carriers can do to meet compliance in a DOT audit. Officer James Walton of the Kansas City Police Dept., will conduct a step-by-step trailer inspection.

Trailer utilization and asset management through reports, geofencing, trip reporting, and other tools available through trailer tracking will be the focus of a speech given by Craig Nolle, Xtra Lease trailer tracking manager.
