The president of Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA), Peter Karlsten, has been appointed to a new corporate post in Sweden by parent AB Volvo.

The president of Volvo Trucks North America (VTNA), Peter Karlsten, has been appointed to a new corporate post in Sweden by parent AB Volvo. Effective Dec. 1, Karlsten will take over as president of Volvo Powertrain, the company’s truck engine and transmission group. He will also become a member of Volvo’s group executive committee and will hold the additional title of sr. vp-- technology for the Volvo Group.

No successor has been named yet to take over the top slot at VTNA.

Karlsten was named president of VTNA in 2003. Previously he had headed Volvo Trucks’ operations in Brazil. He holds a degree in engineering with graduate studies in economics.
