Dometic Group showcased two new refrigerator models at the Mid-America Trucking Show last week in Lousiville. The two refrigerators, a super-slim refrigerator/freezer and a super-sized version for commercial utility vans such as the Ford Transit Connect, are the latest in the company’s product portfolio for trucks.
The CDF-11 super-slim refrigerator/freezer unit is “one of the smallest compressor-powered combination units ever to appear on the market,” said Lou Siegel, senior vp of Dometic’s trucking business unit.
Measuring just 9 ¼ in. wide and 14 in. high, the unit weights 19 lbs. and provides 0.4 cu. ft. of storage space. An adjustable digital thermostat can be set for cooling or freezing with a temperature range of 0 to 50 deg. F. It runs on a 12-volt power supply and draws approximately 3.75 amps, Dometic said.
The super-sized refrigerator boasts a full 29 cu. ft. of interior capacity, measuring 43 in. wide, 55 in. deep and 39 in. high. It is designed to slide into the rear of commercial utility vans, or can be mounted on the bed of a pickup.
The refrigerator can run up to eight hours on its built-in battery without being connected to a power supply. It runs on 12-volt DC or 115-volt AC power and includes a 12-volt compressor. A digital thermostat allows the setpoint to be adjusted from 32 to 50 deg. F.
Other features include an adjustable wire shelf system, internal LED lights, double-magnet door-sealing system and a safety lock that permits the door to be opened from the inside.
Also at the show, Dometic revealed an expansion of its battery-powered climate control line.
