LOUISVILLE, KY. Freight-matching service provider Getloaded.com launched iGetloaded, an Apple iPhone and iPod touch-screen application, here at the Mid-America Trucking Show today. The company said iGetloaded “allows members to move billions of tons of freight from the convenience of a touch-screen mobile handheld device, minimizing the need to be tethered to a desktop computer.”
The firm said industry analysts found that more than 60% of handsets shipped in 2009 were equipped with mobile browsing technology and expect this to grow to 80% by 2013. Getloaded.com specifically found that on average more than 40% of its mobile customers were iPhone users and more than 20% of visits to the Getloaded.com mobile site were from iPhones. Further, analysts project that touch-screen devices like the iPhone will account for more than 58% of mobile users by 2013.
“As the first major freight matching service to embrace the iPhone phenomenon, Getloaded.com takes a game-changing step towards bringing the convenience of wireless applications to the trucking industry,” said Bryan Jones, president. “With a growing national trend toward the use of touch-screen wireless devices, we are poised to serve that market demand.”
According to Jones, iGetloaded combines the speed and usability of Getloaded.com’s freight-matching service with the advanced technology and simple navigation of the iPhone.
The new app not only delivers all of the add-on features members rely on like Rate Index, TransCredit credit scores and PC*MILER mileage, but also:
- GPS-based load and truck searching
- Easy “back-haul” searching from your current location
- Ability to call contacts directly from the app
- Quick browsing of all available loads and trucks
- One touch access to finding loads back to your set home location
Jones said iGetloaded also allows users to see all of their existing saved searches in their online account, and also automatically saves every search users conduct while in a mobile session. By bringing touch-screen mobile technology to the trucking industry, never before has access to capacity and freight been this simple or convenient.
