Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has specified the dates when truck carriers will be required to submit advance electronic cargo information upon entry into the U.S. The implementation scheduled will be staggered between three deadlines— November 15, December 15 and January 14— depending on the point of entry.
Inbound trucks carrying commercial cargo must submit its electronic manifest one hour in advance. Carriers participating under the FAST (Free and Secure Trade) program may submit its manifest no later than 30 minutes before arrival.
To check which point of entry corresponds to the deadlines, check the Federal Register [DOCID:fr17au04-6], published on August 17, 2004.
