Pacbrake has released its new modulating exhaust brake designed for both in-city operations and in hilly areas, dubbed PRXB.

PRXB has up to a third more retarding hp. than a standard exhaust brake at 1,500 rpm, Pacbrake said. The constant backpressure adjusts as engine speed changes to maintain optimum retarding performance throughout the rpm range for superior braking, the company states.

A traditional exhaust brake is upgradeable to PRXB.

Currently, the product comes in a 4” configuration, but 5” and 3.5” brakes will soon be available.
