Jacksonville, FL-based moving conglomerate The Suddath Companies is planning to buy MN-based Barrett Moving & Storage Company in an attempt to merge two diversified transportation firms that could post annual revenue in excess of $250 million, said Barry Vaughn, Suddath’s president & CEO.
The merger would create a company with a more national scope, offering corporate employee relocation, domestic and international household goods moving, warehousing, logistics management and specialized transportation services, he added.
“The geographic locations and synergies of our two companies will further enhance our ability to guarantee quality service for all of our customers,” Vaughn said. “Barrett is well-established in the Midwest and Suddath in the East, West and the Sun Belt.”
A transition team, headed by Vaughn and Bob Eidsvold, president of Barrett Moving, will guide the due diligence process.
