Truck maker Freightliner LLC has appointed Bob Pacillas manager of the company's Cleveland, N.C., Truck Manufacturing Plant, the company's largest manufacturing facility. It employs 3,800 people and produces Class 8 vehicles, including the conventional Century Class S/T and Columbia, as well as the Argosy cabover tractor.
Pacillas is now responsible for all plant operations including production, quality, materials, facilities engineering, human resources and maintenance. He reports to Alan Mayne, general manager of manufacturing operations for Freightliner.
A 36-year Freightliner veteran, Pacillas previously served as manager of the company's Gastonia, N.C., Parts Manufacturing Plant and also worked as director of production at the Cleveland plant from 1989 to 2003. He succeeds John Stevenson, who was appointed president of Freightliner's American LaFrance subsidiary in October.
