Phillips Connect adds to its executive sales team, and Bendix COO is also appointed president and CEO.

Phillips Connect welcomes five industry veterans to its executive sales team

Phillips Connect recently hired five executives, each bringing experience and a proven track record of success. This expansion of the team highlights Phillips Connect’s ambition to redefine industry standards and deliver value to its customers. 

Joining the Phillips Connect family are John Higgins, Brian Hugie, Thomas Ness, and Ali Gullen Saer as sales executives, smart fleet solutions; and Brett Jackson as VP of sales engineering.

  • John Higgins, sales executive: Higgins is a senior sales professional with a track record of delivering revenue growth. Higgins’ recent role as national accounts director at SkyBitz Inc. from 2013 to 2023 highlighted his ability to manage accounts across the country. With expertise spanning sales, marketing, and management, Higgins demonstrates leadership skills that will drive initiatives to enhance Phillips Connect’s brand value and growth. 
  • Brian Hugie, sales executive: Hugie is a leader and entrepreneur with a background in telematics and fleet management. As the CEO and owner of FleettrackGPS since August 2014, Hugie spearheaded the development of a system designed for asset, trailer, and fleet management. Before founding FleettrackGPS, Hugie served as VP of sales at Spireon Inc. from February 2006 to November 2013.
  • Ali Guillen Saer, sales executive: Gaer is a sales leader and business development executive with over 20 years of experience specializing in the Latin American market. As senior regional director at Sensata Technologies, Latin America, Gaer led the sales and business development team to introduce new telematics technology and solutions in Latin America.
  • Thomas Ness, sales executive: Ness is a leader in the technology and transportation industry. Previously, Ness served as the director of national accounts at SkyBitz. In this role, Ness excelled in managing sales and customer relationships, establishing account strategies, and surpassing sales quotas for the past six years. 
  • Brett Jackson, VP of sales engineering: Jackson is a leader in the technology sector, renowned for his expertise in market analysis, emerging technologies, and strategic go-to-market strategies for new SaaS products. Holding three patents in sensor technologies and communication platforms, his contributions have advanced the field. His advisory role at DynamoEdge, coupled with his leadership positions at CalAmp and prior strategic development and operational roles at Cooltrax and Truck-Lite, reflect his impact on the logistics and telematics landscapes.

Bendix appoints Piotr Sroka president, CEO, and COO

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems has named Piotr Sroka president and CEO, adding to his current COO responsibilities.

“I am deeply honored to be entrusted with the role of president and CEO at Bendix,” Sroka said. “This company is well positioned for growth. I look forward to working alongside our exceptional management team and world-class employees to further build Bendix’s foundation and momentum—always with our focus on meeting customer needs and operational excellence.”

Before joining Bendix in 2023, Sroka was a member of the management board of Knorr-Bremse SfN, the global leader’s commercial vehicle systems division, since July 2020, where, most recently, he was co-responsible for the European CVS division. Simultaneously, he was the senior executive leader of  the global Air Supply & Drivetrain business and Industrial Engineering and Indirect Purchasing unit for the commercial vehicle systems division.
