Ft. Lauderdale, FL-based leasing company First Fleet Corp. has hired Ezel (C.J.) Minnet Baltali to be its fleet services application engineer in charge of coordinating and executing the company’s private truck fleet fuel consumption study. He will report to Kirk Rutherford, First Fleet’s vp of fleet services.

First Fleet said the study is to be conducted under “real world” operating conditions to help provide strategies for increasing diesel fuel economy for the trucking industry – in part by using telematics technology to gather hard fuel economy numbers.

During the 18-month life of the study, Baltali is going to be responsible for installation and removal of telematic devices on more than 200 trucks from 10 First Fleet customers that are participating in the study, First Fleet said, and will co-author the final report.
