Wheel end maker Accuride Corp.'s net sales soared in the second quarter to $94.6 million, compared to the $92.1 million in net sales Accuride had in the second quarter of 2001. Sales were also up from $77.8 million in the first quarter of this year.
Evansville, IN-based Accuride, which manufacturers wheels for heavy- and medium-duty trucks and trailers, said sales jumped dramatically largely because of increased Class 8 truck orders. President & CEO Terry Keating warned that flexibility would be necessary in the months ahead as the industry deals with Class 8 demand uncertainties related to the EPA emission compliance deadline.
