ArvinMeritor's Brazilian JV begins production

ArvinMeritor Inc. said that production has begun on schedule at its new Suspensys joint venture with Randon Participacoes of Brazil. Announced last August, the new 174,000-sq.-ft. facility in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, is manufacturing truck suspensions, trailer axles and suspensions, and related wheel-end equipment initially for the South American heavy-duty vehicle market. ArvinMeritor Inc. said that production has begun on schedule at its new Suspensys joint venture with Randon Participacoes of Brazil.

Announced last August, the new 174,000-sq.-ft. facility in Caxias do Sul, Brazil, is manufacturing truck suspensions, trailer axles and suspensions, and related wheel-end equipment initially for the South American heavy-duty vehicle market.

The components from the venture are being used by original equipment manufacturers in South America, and exports will commence in the next 30 days to Europe and North America.

Randon, a conglomerate of companies specializing in numerous markets in South America, holds core competencies in the manufacturing of trailer equipment and specialty vehicles, as well as automotive systems and components.
