Averitt Express has opened a state-of-the-art, 13,000-sq.-ft. service center in Meridian, MS. It replaces a previous facility in the city and triples the capacity of the previous service center.

The service center consists of a 2,800-sq.-ft. administrative office and 10,290-sq.-ft. operations and dock area on a 6-acre lot. It has an on-site fueling system, which makes use of a card-lock dispensing system that monitors fuel usage statistics and service center fueling information.

According to local service center director Mike Eubanks, the larger facility, which has more than 29 dock bays, will translate into improved service and flexibility for Averitt's customers in a 100-mile radius of Meridian.
