Dana said its new axles include ABS-ready spiders that are made from forged steel for superior strength and lighter weight. Spiders also feature sintered, oil-impregnated bronze bushings for maximum durability, the company said.
Spicer XtraLife II S-cam brakes, with more usable brake lining than standard S-cam brakes, are available on certain models for better performance and cost savings, Dana added.
All trailer axles, including standard assemblies and drop-tube assemblies, are delivered with weld-on spiders, 28-spline S-camshafts, brake assemblies, air chamber brackets, ABS sensor brackets, and spindle nuts and washers. Four cam lengths are available, as well as three brake sizes – 12-1/4 X 7-1/2, 16-1/2 X 7, and 16-1/2 X 8-5/8 inches. Rated capacities include 20,000, 22,500 and 25,000 lbs.
