LOUISVILLE, KY – East Manufacturing unveiled a new line of aluminum dump and transfer trailers, designed to help reduce tractor-trailer fuel consumption by 5-10%, at the 2002 Mid America Trucking Show.
East's new Genesis trailer line is built with double-wall aluminum extrusions and is welded together via a patented robotic manufacturing process, the company said. The double-wall construction helps prevent dings that occur on the exterior of the trailer from affecting its interior siding, East added.
The aluminum construction also allowed East to increase the trailer's width by four inches, so fleets can haul 5.75 cubic yards more payload and thus earn more revenue per loaded mile, the company said.
