FedEx Express will increase list rates an average of 2.5 percent for shipments within the U.S. and for U.S. export shipments. FedEx Ground rates will increase an average of 1.9 percent.
In addition, the fuel surcharge for both U.S. and international FedEx Ground shipments will be discontinued effective Jan. 5, 2004. The fuel surcharge will remain in effect for all FedEx Express shipments.
Other changes effective Jan. 5, 2004:
- A delivery area surcharge of $1 per package will be assessed for FedEx Ground shipments destined for commercial locations in select ZIP codes.
- The surcharge for residential delivery will increase from $1.40 to $1.75 per package for FedEx Express and FedEx Ground shipments. An additional existing surcharge for express and ground shipments to residences in select ZIP codes remains at $1.75 per package.
- The surcharge for residential delivery of FedEx Home Delivery shipments will increase from $1.15 to $1.40 per package.
- FedEx Express Freight service will be offered with Saturday delivery to select U.S. destinations for an additional charge of $100 per shipment.
Other changes effective Jan. 26, 2004:
- The surcharge for FedEx Express shipments destined for commercial locations in select ZIP codes will decrease from $1.75 to $1.
- A delivery area surcharge of $15 per package will apply to express shipments destined for remote, sparsely populated areas in Alaska.
- Introduction of a new oversize package category subject to minimum billable weight for FedEx Express domestic packages and FedEx Ground packages.
- Dimensional weight pricing will apply to shipments in customer packaging at or below one cubic foot in volume for U.S. and Puerto Rico express shipments.
