Heartland Express Inc. said its fourth-quarter 2002 revenue increased 25.1% to $92.0 million from $73.5 million and its net income increased 13.4% to $11.2 million from $9.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2001.
For the twelve months, revenue increased 15.7% to $340.7 million from $294.6 million in 2001, and its net income increased 13.7% to $42.8 million from $37.7 million.
The carrier ended the fourth quarter with cash, cash equivalents, and investments of $153.9 million, a $7.2 million decrease from the $161.1 million reported on December 31, 2001. Total assets increased to $373.1 million from $314.2 million the previous year.
