Hebe Resigns as Freightliner Chief

DaimlerChrysler announced today that it has accepted the resignation of James L. Hebe, president & CEO of Freightliner LLC, and appointed Rainer Schmückle as Hebe's successor. DaimlerChrysler announced today that it has accepted the resignation of James L. Hebe, president & CEO of Freightliner LLC, and appointed Rainer Schmückle as Hebe's successor.

“We wish to thank Jim Hebe for his years dedicated to building the Freightliner division in North America and wish him well in his future endeavours,” DaimlerChrysler board member Eckhard Cordes said in a statement.”

Schmückle was CFO of Freightliner from 1994 to 1997, and was most recently senior vp controlling of DaimlerChrysler AG. He was also CFO and CEO of Adtranz, the former DaimlerChrysler rail systems business unit.

Roger Nielsen, previously vp - business segment specialized vehicles of Freightliner, has been appointed Freightliner’s COO.
