Truckload carrier Knight Transportation said its third-quarter net income jumped 18.7% to $7.4 million on a 14.1% rise in revenue to $72.8 million compared to the same quarter last year.
For the first nine months of 2002, Knight's revenue increased 15% to $203.0 million and its net income jumped 26.5% to $19.7 million compared to the same period in 2001.
Chairman & CEO Kevin Knight added that his company achieved both revenue and net income increases despite having fewer trucks on hand, due to slow tractor deliveries during the first and second quarters.
