Market Transport, Ltd., an asset-based logistics and multimodal transportation services company, acquired InTransit, the ninth-largest transportation broker in the United States.

The combined company is expected to generate nearly $200 million in revenue in 2003. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

InTransit’s brokerage services facilitate the movement of more than 100,000 truckloads per year. By adding InTransit to its portfolio of companies, Market Transport now offers third-party logistics support, asset-based truckload services including dedicated fleets, intermodal services, a national contract carrier network, and brokerage services from a network of 52 nationwide branch affiliates.
