76 Lubricants Co. has announced its line of Super motor oils has been reformulated to meet the latest API oil-service category for automotive gasoline engines, GF-3.

“The category includes rigorous new performance requirements that result in a much higher quality oil that will improve fuel economy and protect emissions systems catalysts,” said Steve Tarbox, product team manager for 76 Lubricants Co.

According to Tarbox, GF-3 oils provide a significant upgrade in performance over products meeting the previous category, GF-2, including: lower volatility (leading to up to 40% less oil consumption); improved fuel economy; improved high-temperature deposit control (for longer engine life); and improved anti-oxidancy (for longer oil life).
