Merritt Applications Inc., a software development firm based in Malvern, PA, has launched a new Internet-based driver management system called eFleetManager. It is designed to monitor and educate drivers of commercial and government fleets about reducing crash costs and liability as well as increasing productivity.

Merritt said the eFleetManager system offers an around-the-clock way to provide automatic safety monitoring of fleet drivers. It actively gathers and monitors data, such as crash information, accident and motor vehicle reports from multiple sources, then analyzes the data based on the fleet's own business and safety rules.

The system then notifies drivers and fleet administrators of reported incidents and also provides drivers with educational tools to minimize future incidents. Drivers are monitored and a complete communication system is established among the driver, his manager and the organization.
