Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta is planning to lead a highway safety discussion at the National Association of Governors’ Highway Safety Representatives (NAGHSR) annual meeting October 14-17 in Long Beach, CA.

Seventeen sessions over the three-day meeting will feature panelists discussing highway safety challenges, and answers to topics ranging from distracted driving to booster seat issues, drugged driving and unlicensed drivers, said NAGHSR.

The newly appointed head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Dr. Jeff Runge, National Transportation Safety Board chair Marion Blakey and California Highway Patrol commissioner Spike Helmick also will address the latest traffic safety trends and policy issues.
